I’m Chuck Ludwig Reina, a painter who grew up in Brooklyn sketching subway riders. These days, I live out in Marble Falls, Texas, where I paint scenes that mash up Greek mythology and the American West. I think of the West as America’s shared myth—full of gods, ghosts, and grit—and I like finding the overlap between ancient legends and cowboy lore. My current series, Gods of the West, drops Mount Olympus into a dusty frontier.
